Rotary Emergency Services Awards 2021

Congratulations to Mr. Wayne Keel on being announced as a state finalist in the Rotary NSW Emergency Services Awards for 2021.

Wayne Keel is a part time member of our operations team and has just been announced as a finalist in the Rotary Emergency Services Awards 2021

The students and staff of Calrossy volunteer with many community based organisations in directly supporting service in our region. Our students are very active throughout the community, not only  raising the profile of worthy causes but actively getting involved in numerous working bees, tree planting days and other service endeavours.

Principal Mr David Smith said Calrossy absolutely supports students and staff to volunteer. “Selflessness is a School value we hold very close to our hearts and by engaging with those experiencing hard times or dealing with bushfire emergencies, it helps put things in perspective.”

Many Calrossy staff are active volunteers in the NSW Rural Fire Service and NSW State Emergency Service and in 2020 our students participated in the RFS Cadet training program. We look forward to continuing this.

On behalf of the entire Calrossy community I take this opportunity to thank our students and staff who give freely of their time to make a difference within their communities across the North West of New South Wales. I would also like to wish Wayne who is a deserved nominee all the very best for the weekends announcements.
